Mission Nutrition

CSS is
working with the Prince George’s County Department of Social Services and the Capital Area Food Bank to expand our
food program and bring fresh fruits and vegetables to people who can not otherwise attend our established Baden and Accokeek
Food Pantries. The Mission Nutrition site at Gwynn Park High School is open once monthly from 4:00 to 7:00
PM. Since our other Food Pantries are open in the mornings, the afternoon hours at the Mission Nutrition
site enables folks in-need who are working to stop by on their way home. On Mission Nutrition
days, our wonderful CSS volunteers gather early to set up tables and unload food. Offerings vary:
cabbages, potatoes, sweet potatoes, lettuce, onions, watermelons, cantelopes, plums, tomatoes, fresh figs, and
peppers were given out at a recent distribution. Upcoming Mission Nutrition dates are Tuesdays,
August 16, September 20, October 18, November 22, and December 20 at the Dyson Road parking lot, Gwynn Park High School,
13800 Brandywine Rd., Brandywine, MD 20613

By Any Means Possible We've
often talked about the lack of public transportation in our area. Folks arrive by any means possible. In addition to riding
with friends or catching the Call-A-Bus, we have clients that regularly travel to our Food Pantries via bicycle, and once
in awhile, riding lawnmower. But Mr. Williams' mode of transportation is truly unique - his trusty steed Barberosa!
